Soul of this world,
no life, nor world remain,
no beautiful women and men longing,
only this ancient love

circling the holy black stone of nothing
where the lover is the love,
the horizon, and everything within it.

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere.
Don Juan,   in The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda

Hi, my name is David Yekutiel, I am 64 years old and currently live  in the countryside  near Sint Truiden, Belgium. I have lived a somewhat nomadic life and recently discovered a new (for me) continent that totally captured my heart – Africa.  Among the many things I have done in my life, leading tours to wild places where people can enjoy the wonder of unspoiled nature has been the most satisfying and enjoyable.

I don’t want to bore you with a lengthy account of places I’ve been and things I have done. I’ll just add (in case you wonder) that I am a fairly keen bird-watcher, have a degree in Zoology, have been (besides  a guide and zoologist)  a cook, permaculture designer, gardener and (briefly, long ago and not very successfully) a bicycle salesman.

I love birds and animals and over the years I have even learned to get on fairly well with people – some of my best friends are human beings. I am saddened by what we are doing to our beautiful planet, and admire those who are struggling to change things for the better. I believe that intimate contact with nature, animals, trees and wild places  can inspire us to treat each other, ourselves and our planet more lovingly – perhaps facilitating this contact is one thing I can do which is of some use.
